Learning Opportunities
North Central Washington Child Passenger Safety Education and Car Seat Checks
Car seats can be confusing! The who, what, where, when, why and how of car seats is sometimes overwhelming. Let me help you to know which of your children should be using which type of vehicle restraint system, what type of restraint that should be, where your child should sit in your vehicle, how long they should be in that system, why this is important, as well as the correct and safe way to use that child restraint. I am available for 1:1 appointments with you, your family and your vehicle, as well as group education in a classroom setting, upon request. Together, we can work to meet your Child Passenger Safety needs.
Wenatchee Valley CPR and First Aid
Simply Safe has certified classes available to meet your training needs either in our community classroom or your work space. In either class situation, you can be assured of a safe and educational class. Whether this is your first certification or a renewal, you can count on receiving current and approved information to keep you confident in your Basic Life Support (BLS) skills or Heartsaver First Aid, CPR & AED skills. We serve the Wenatchee area, Leavenworth, Cashmere and other area’s of North Central Washington.
Babysitting Certification
Safe Sitter’s® Instructor-led classes are filled with fun games and role-playing exercises. Safe Sitter Essentials® (with or without CPR) is a 1-day class designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they are home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. Safe@Home by Safe Sitter® is a 90-minute class designed to prepare students in grades 4-6 to be safe when they are home alone.

About Me
Hello, my name is Julie Wilcox. I have been in some form of positive healthcare and injury prevention for my entire professional career. I started as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist and worked for 12+ years to help children and their families be healthy and fulfilled given their life circumstances and challenges. From there, after realizing my own children were being transported in a less than safe manner, I dove headfirst into Child Passenger Safety. I have worked in Child Passenger Safety since 2001 and, during that time, became a certified Child Passenger Safety Instructor. In my work as a CPST/I, I have primarily worked in hospitals , assisting new families, existing families and families with special transportation needs. As an extension of that hospital setting, I have partnered with many First Responders (Fire, Police and Ambulance) and schools (elementary and preschool level). To round out my injury prevention skills, I am also certified as a CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor, both in a Basic Life Support setting (medical personnel and first responders) and in HeartSaver setting (layman CPR). My passion lies in partnering with others to increase confidence in the areas of injury prevention that will allow us all to lead safe and healthy lives. I look forward to seeing you in class!
